The Sexual Assault and Crime Victims Assistance Program for Rensselaer is committed to reducing the trauma of sexual assault, crime and violence as well as providing community education for its prevention. We are dedicated to creating a supportive, caring environment for victims-survivors and their families to enhance the healing process.

Offers comprehensive crisis intervention for domestic violence, rape, sexual abuse, and other crime. Services include: safe confidential dwelling for domestic violence victims, short-term counseling, and 24-hr toll-free confidential hotline. Medical, legal advocacy and accompaniment as well as information and referrals.

* Provides a confidential crisis intervention service, with the primary goal to assure telephone response to emergency situations. Crisis consultants are available to meet face-to-face if needed. Works in partnership with Allegany County Mental Health Association.

Donations of new clothing are accepted; new socks underwear and bras, are most needed, as well as pajamas, sweatpants/yoga pants, t-shirts and sweatshirts of all sizes, children's sizes to XXXL adult.

Provides in-person mental health crisis intervention and support services within the home or community. Services include immediate access to treatment services designed to stabilize crisis situations, enhancing skills and knowledge to reduce environmental and social stressors, and connections to programs and services.

Offers a peer support phone service run by trans people for trans and questioning peers. Calls are anonymous and confidential. Hotline is answered by trained trans/nonbinary peers to listen, help answer questions and offer guidance.
