New York State Licensed Clinical Psychiatric Social Workers provide services to runaway and homeless youth, and those involved in the juvenile justice system who are 12 to 24 years old, without cost, for residents in Brookhaven Township. The program also provides training in independent living skills for youth 16 to 24 who are considered homeless. Services provided through the Sanctuary Program include: counseling, advocacy, short term emergency housing, homeless project, family mediation, information and referral, employment and college preparation.

Responds to the needs of developmentally disabled individuals and their families/caregivers who are experiencing a crisis situation. Crisis intervention may include any situation by which a developmentally disabled individual needs an immediate alternative day or residential option, when traditional service delivery models do not meet families' needs and when linkage and referral services are needed to connect the individual with ongoing services which address behavioral, medical, or situational needs.

BE SAFE Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Program - Erie County District Attorney

A domestic violence program comprised of advocates and social workers located within the Erie County District Attorney's Office. Provides supportive counseling, resources, case management, and safety planning to survivors of Intimate Partner Violence. Specializes in providing advocacy within criminal courts and helping survivors review their options regardless of whether they have a criminal case. Free services are provided to anyone who identifies themselves as a victim of Domestic Violence. Services include BE SAFE Hotline; court accompaniment and advocacy; counseling; crisis case management; help with safety planning; information and referrals for counseling, housing, and other programs; help communicating with the Assistant District Attorney and police; help with medical, housing, employment and financial needs; education and training about abuse; assistance in filing Family Court Family Offense petitions; and VINE program registration for offender release information.

HOTLINE FOR PEOPLE IN CRISIS | ACCESS MOBILE MENTAL HEALTH TEAM

Access is a hotline with trained counselors who can speak with callers going through mental health issues, personal crisis, who need someone to talk to about depression, or are having family difficulties. The Access hotline can dispatch counselors to respond on location to access the crisis, develop a follow up plan, and stay involved to make sure the plan is carried out. Same day counseling sessions are offered in the office with and without appointments.
