Also offers a behavioral health walk-in clinic (The Help Center) that does not require an appointment. The Help Center offers immediate support for individuals who may be experiencing a crisis and/or are in need of behavioral health services and linkage to a community provider. The Help Center is an alternative to ECMC's Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) for those who are NOT experiencing suicidal thoughts/behaviors.

Psychiatric consultation, medication therapy and specialized services for children and trauma survivors are also available. Offers a wide range of services for youth with psychiatric hospitalization and families experiencing problems which interfere with healthy development of their children. Includes treatment for youth through age 21 at risk of suicide, those adjusting to divorce, or other family crisis, eating disorders, social difficulties, unmanageable behavior, depression, or anxiety disorders. Walk-in services are also available for anyone seeking support.

This is a program for Veterans with PTSD, TBI, and other disabilities whereby they receive peer support from other Veterans trained in military behavioral health.

Care Coordination/Case Management Services are intended for the high need consumer who has had difficulty maintaining linkages to mental health services and other important supports, such as benefits, housing, advocacy, health care, peer services, or vocational services. SPOA is a uniform referral process which assists the referring party to determine the appropriate level of care coordination services. After the referral is made it is assessed and a determination is made as to the acceptance of the initial referral or referral to another program which may better meet the needs of the individual. Evaluates and treats children in the inpatient unit, aged 5-13 years, for emotional and behavioral problems, using short term stays (1-12 weeks). Discharge planning includes school placement, outpatient follow-up and family support. Also provides outpatient psychiatric evaluations and treatment for children, adolescents and families including medical assessments of medication for behavior disorders, school psychiatric evaluations, preschool assessment, forensic evaluation for various externalizing disorders such as affective disorders, hyperactivity, attention, impulsivity and conduct problems, affective disorders such as depression and/or mania and developmental disorders and language problems.

Also available is smoking cessation for those who want to stop smoking. Social workers help patients and their families deal with various issues dealing with age, chronic illness or disability.

The Adult Single Point of Access (A-SPOA) is a process to identify those adults with a mental illness who are most in need of services and to provide access to supports and services such as care management, assertive community treatment (ACT), OMH licensed housing and supportive housing. The A-SPOA Coordinator works with referral sources, families, and hospitals to ensure a smooth transition to appropriate care.

Provides a centralized intake process for adults and children who have significant behavioral health needs that would benefit from additional supports and services in the community. This includes people with significant behavioral and medical or social risk factors which can be addressed through overall care management. There are three types of SPOAs - Children's, Adult Case/Care Management and Adult Housing. The SPOA process provides for the identification of people most in need of services, and manages service access and utilization.
