SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER | FARMINGDALE STATE COLLEGE

Provides free, one-on-one business advising. This free technical assistance is available to anyone who wants to start a business or who already owns a business. Services range from answering startup and business structure questions to assisting with business plans, cash flow projections, marketing plans, and loan information. The mission of the SBDC is to provide professional business advisement, education, network resources and to advocate for small business and entrepreneurs. The SBDC at Farmingdale State College plays a key role in economic development by providing free, high-quality, technical and management assistance to start-up and existing small businesses. Talented, certified SBDC business advisors are ready to counsel and train you to make your business succeed. Through direct, one-on-one counseling, the SBDC provides a range of management and technical assistance services and information, including: Small Business; Start-Up; Business Plan Development; Organizational Structures; Financial Planning; Cost Analysis; Loan Information and Marketing Assistance. Also offered is The Veteran's Business Program which is a program designed to enable men and women who have served in the Armed Forces to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by owning and operating their own business. In addition to the comprehensive services offered by the SBDC, the Veteran's Business Program also offers mentorship and networking services designed for veteran business owners. Recipients of these programs may include individuals, corporations, partnerships, cooperatives, public bodies, nonprofit corporations, Indian tribes, and private companies.

Raising HOPE: a one-to one mentoring program to help women in need of support to develop and achieve educational or career goals in order to become financially stable and self-sufficient. A limited amount of financial assistance is available annually to address a mentee’s educational or career goals, or to maintain housing or financial stability.
