Provides local youth with a place in their community to find guidance, support, and companionship, plus have enriching cultural, recreational, and community service experiences.

Provides daily recreational opportunities for local youth ages 7 to 15 years, from a number of city neighborhoods. Drop-in recreation is free of charge and includes a variety of fun, engaging activities. Some programs may have limited space and may required advanced registration. Also offers programming at the Butternut Policing Center at Schiller Park, an after school program at Edward Smith School, the Northeast Community Center, and the Southwest Community Center.

Programs offered include licensed after school and recess camp programs, adult and youth tennis, swimming lessons, water aerobics, lap swim, after-school gym programs, toddler programs, Badminton, adult floor hockey, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, youth basketball lessons, open basketball, and floor hockey. Playground and playmobile (mobile playground) available. Concerts in the parks and various special events offered during the year. Programs for adults with disabilities include social program, crafts, and Special Olympics training in basketball, track, and swimming. Programs for youth with disabilities include social programs, Special Olympics training, basketball, track, and swimming during summer. Services available for dropouts/early school intervention/first offenders. Youth programs provided at 4 community centers/sites. Programs aim to unite community resources, aid disadvantaged youth, and prevent drug abuse. YES program is an employment program for teens/young adults. Resident ID cards issued annually. Provides a variety of activities for residents of all ages, especially the local youth. Activities include tennis, basketball, social events, movie night, field trips, arts and crafts, exercise, and more.

Provides a wide range of activities, including field trips, reading materials, educational speakers, basketball, racquetball, aerobics, volleyball, dances, and a variety of community services. The center has billiards tables, foosball, television, video games, and a gymnasium. Provides an indoor skate park with ramps and slides.

Off-site swimming pool offers open swim year-round, lap and family swims, lifeguard training, and swim lessons.

Offers prevention workshops on topics such as drug and alcohol use, gang involvement and pregnancy.

Provides recreation opportunities to students ages 4 years old through 7th grade. Offers a full gym and game room with a variety of table games like pool, foosball, hockey, and ping pong. Homework help is available from staff and volunteers. Provides a recreation program open to students in 6th-12th grade, including basketball, several youth activities, and field trips.

This program provides a safe space for teenage students to gather and socialize in a safe environment. This space was created by teens for teens. Junbo games like Jenga, Uno, Dominoes, and Connect Four are available along with video games, television and entertainment. Teens will receive snack and drinks. Teens are asked to donate $1 towards an event that they will facilitate.

A collaboration with O.C.A.D.A. A substance-free performance program run by teens, for teens. Ages 13-18. Weekly planning meetings held every Tuesday night at Nyack Center at 5:30. This is a free program.

Provides community meeting space, food pantry referrals, special events, family activities, and technology center / computer lab. Senior programming includes exercise, movies, parties, senior council meetings, bingo, nutrition program for seniors, and field trips. Youth programming includes an after school program for children 5-10 years old, 4-H programs, homework help, teen and adolescent life skills, youth and teen recreation, summer day camp, and homework assistance. Also provided are youth sports, adult sports and recreation, adult athletic leagues, exercise programs, and a fitness room. Serves as a City of Buffalo Cooling Center during times of extreme heat and as a Warming Center during times of extreme cold. Always call ahead to make sure a Cooling/Warming Center is open before going there.

*Provides the Kids with Promise Program, a structured safe environment with services including:

• Computer lab for educational enrichment
• Dinner

*Provides counseling to victims of violence through DOVE (Domestic Violence Ended) for children who are already receiving services through Thea Bowman House. (On hold for now. 10/19/22)
