HEALTHLY NEIGHBORHOODS PROGRAM | CLINTON COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

The Healthy Neighborhoods Program (HNP) is a grant-funded program designed to help improve the personal health, safety, and environmental living conditions of residents within Clinton County. HNP is able to do this through health and safety surveys that are conducted with participants of the program. The survey covers 5 main topics: fire safety, lead, indoor air quality, injury prevention, and asthma. Based on the outcome of the survey, and program eligibility, HNP may be able to provide the participant with various safety products as well as health and safety education. RESOURCE RECOVERY UNIT | ROCKLAND COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES (DSS) - Building C

The Resource Recovery Unit attempts to recoup non-exempt income and assets from a client receiving social service benefits, in the cases where total resources were under reported. Files liens, judgments, assignments, state claims and mortgages in appropriate cases to preserve the rights of the Department. The Cash Management System (CAMS) coordinates and oversees all aspects of overpayment and advance payment collections for all benefit programs. Follows up on all repayment agreements. Negotiates mutually acceptable repayment arrangements, and as a last resort, refers matters for civil litigation when necessary. Unit also pays for burials in the death of an indigent individual.

LEADERSHIP OSWEGO COUNTY | OFFICE OF BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS (OBCR)

A 9-month leadership development program that takes place annually to prepare a select group of county residents to become the community stewards of the future. This group explores Oswego County and its resources, key current and future issues.

Public Health Initiatives | Pivital Public Health Partnership

Works with area public health departments, community based organizations, and local businesses to further public health initiatives across 8 counties in the Finger Lake region. Includes building collaborations through strategic planning and alignment. Compiles a regional Community Health Assessment as well as facilitates a healthy eating and food security coalition, early childhood initiatives, substance use and mental health information, and emergency planning.

SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS BUREAU | SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS BUREAU

Fosters and preserves active and open avenues of communication between the Department and the diverse communities which it serves. In an ongoing effort to identify, understand and solve the contemporary public safety issues facing communities the CRB seeks to build lasting relationships built on trust and mutual respect. As part of its overall mission, CRB supervises the Community Liaison Officers (CLO), the School Resource Officers (SRO), the Recruitment Section and the Police Athletic League (PAL) Officers. The Bureau also coordinates and oversees a variety of outreach initiatives throughout the County, such as Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), Operation Medicine Cabinet, "Unity in the Community", "Vamos a Hablar", "Let’s Talk", "The Ugly Truth", "Coffee With a Cop", "Craft With a Cop", "Teen Gaming", "HERE Truancy", "Barber, Beauty and Books", "Clippers N Cops", and "Impact Truancy". Additional programs offered include: Auxiliary Police Program; Police Internship Program; Civilian Academy; Youth Academy; Crimestoppers; Swim For Survival; S.A.V.E (School Active Violence Emergency) Hotline; Neighborhood Watch; Alarm Management Program of Suffolk (AMPS); Car Seat Inspections and more.
