Identifies natural leaders within the community and provides them with family life information and community development strategies, enabling them to educate peers and participate in community planning/development.

Works with area public health departments, community based organizations, and local businesses to further public health initiatives across 8 counties in the Finger Lake region. Includes building collaborations through strategic planning and alignment. Compiles a regional Community Health Assessment as well as facilitates a healthy eating and food security coalition, early childhood initiatives, substance use and mental health information, and emergency planning.

Works with area agencies to research and analyze public and private funding sources, analyze RFPs to fit their programs, reviews written proposals, facilitates planning processes and grant applications, holds grant development trainings and consultations and provides strategic planning consultation.

Offers business development and management assistance for all stages of business ownership. Assistance includes: business plan preparation; marketing assistance; business counseling; strategic business planning; computer training; record-keeping training; tax seminars; and e-commerce workshops.
