Creates multi-agency and public/private partnerships with Early Head Start and Head Start programs at the state level. These partnerships are intended to help build early childhood systems, enhance access to comprehensive services for low-income families, encourage collaboration among Head Start and other programs and services, and facilitate the involvement of Head Start in state policies, plans, processes and decisions affecting Head Start target populations. Priority issues are violence prevention, service acquisition, information access and coordination of planning and policy with other state, public, and private programs.

Assists Hispanic youth and their families in the acculturation process. Addresses problems associated with scholastic underachievement, family dysfunction, domestic violence, child abuse, and neglect. Provides individual and group counseling, family mediation, parent education series, crisis intervention, and school intervention to assist Hispanic youth and their families. Offers after school homework help/tutoring and six week summer camp.

Provides crisis intervention, support groups, advocacy groups, and interfaces with county support services.

Provides an intensive outpatient program for women and women with children that offers medically supervised services within a safe, supportive, gender-specific environment. Licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS).

Provides services to prevent out of home placement for children whose families are referred by Nassau County DSS.. Outreach services include assessment of family concerns, intensive counseling, clinical services including individual and family therapy, referral to other necessary agencies, advocacy, parent education/groups, social/educational activities for the whole family.

Provides a six to eight week course in dealing with children and adolescents. Topics covered include roles in the family, personality development, encouragement, punishment, and rewards. Daytime and evening groups available. Support groups for parents who have completed the Parent Study Group are also available. Provides prevention and youth development programs, education and referral to general youth populations, as well as those identified as high risk.
