Probation Officers process and investigate youths who have been in trouble by being truant from school, runaway or incorrigible who require supervision. Works with client and family to resolve the situation by mentoring, guidance or will refer to out side counselling. Parent or legal guardian can refer youths to the PINS program.

Provides home visiting case management to at risk youth and works to prevent further involvement in the juvenile justice system. Services include, but are not limited to, informal counseling, including parenting, 1:1 anger management, school advocacy, tutoring, substance abuse, counseling and recreational programs. Services are offered in both English and Spanish.

Site Based Programs match volunteer mentors to children in need of a positive role model. Matches meet on-site in a supervised setting and are professionally supported by a program team member throughout the duration of the program. Matches meet regularly, where Bigs provide homework assistance, friendship and model positive behavior. Programs can include college mentoring, high school mentoring and workplace mentoring.

Provides a highly structured, nurturing, corrective experience for males, ages 12-16, who have serious adjustment difficulties. Assists in educational, social and coping skills for reunification with family and community. Special programs for hard to place juvenile delinquents.

Works to reduce gang violence and promote a variety of opportunities and other competencies that give the youth in the local community alternatives to a violent life on the street.Provides a wide array of services for youth already involved in the criminal system including case management, social work services, counseling, and Moral Reconation Therapy. Also provides community based and school based prevention services to youth at risk for engaging in criminal.

Provides 24 hour crisis intervention and referrals for youth-at-risk through telephone switchboards, as well as advocacy and educational services. Assists with conference calls and message delivery to parents of runaways, and to shelters and other agencies to confirm appropriate and available services.

Offers a temporary home for 11 to 18 year old children who are court mandated. Provides a school program, individual counseling, and group dynamics. Presents a series of workshops that motivate, educate and empower both adults and youth on the importance of reducing gang violence. Provides prevention and youth development programs, education and referral to general youth populations, as well as those identified as high risk.

Provides brief crisis intervention, short-term counseling, mediation, advocacy and/or referral for youth who are runaways or homeless or at risk of becoming runaways due to family conflicts. Referral to emergency shelter or group homes.

Offers school-based one-on-one mentoring. The mentor program trains mentors, mentees, and school staff. Mentors and mentees meet at the student's school with the support and supervision of a site coordinator.

Offers a workshop series on anger management to Nassau and Suffolk County residents. Through a variety of activities, participants will learn skills to manage stress and anger while developing empathy, better judgment and impulse control. Provides on-site care for youth in need of short and long term care. Our child care staff provide 24 hour supervision of our youth, assisting in areas such as daily living. In this division, youth are offered a multitude of services such as mental health, medical care, independent living skills, employment and recreation so they can either return to their families or maintain self-sufficiency in the community Call for more detailed information.

Encourages youth to establish a good work ethic through employment and workshops. Promotes punctuality, teamwork, how to follow rules and regulations, as well as respect of self, co-workers and supervisors. At- risk youth are selected between the ages of 14-18. Interviews are held in May and orientation in June. Employment is seven weeks, Monday-Friday. Worksites are established within the community at local churches, schools, agencies, parks and beaches. Workshops are given throughout the program in areas such as Banking, Job Attitudes, Career Goals, Job Interviewing and Resume Writing.
