Works to meet the growing needs of all youth in our community, with daily activities that include access to tutors for homework help as well as a variety of sports, leadership challenges, educational adventures, field trips. All programs are led by certified and trained staff, music and dance instructors, athletic trainers and coaches we provide a variety of enrichment opportunities for all enrolled to choose from. The Youth Empowerment is broken up into 3 major components: After School Programming, Summer Camp, and Prime Time programming in the later evening.

Comprehensive job center where both job seekers and employers can access a wide variety of free employment and training-related services under one roof. Helps job seekers with planning their careers through recommendations as to which resources might be most helpful for specific situations. Office for claims and inquiries about Social Security and SSI; initial claims only for Medicare. Issues social security cards. Offers benefit programs to assist retired or disabled, as well as aged or disabled in need. Also offers programs to assist certain dependents and survivors, as well as coal miners (Black Lung Benefits).

Provides a range of resources to help parents needing child care, people who want to start or are currently running child care programs, and anyone with a concern about the health or safety of a child in a day care program. Monitors and provides technical assistance to child care providers. Oversight is aimed at the provision of safe quality services.

Provides one-on-one support, training, information, referrals, advocacy, education, and parent support groups for adoptive or guardianship parents.

Offers care coordination and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention services to individuals being released from state prison or a local county jail to Erie County through the Enhanced Release Under Supervision Program. These programs assist individuals in reacclimating to the community while addressing behavioral and physical health needs, obtaining entitlements such as medical insurance, and decreasing recidivism. ##REENTRY##

Provides spiritual and personal counseling for inmates as requested. Provides after-incarceration guidance through a local church discipleship program. Offers weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, weekly Bible Studies, a Clean Sober Saved program, and chapel services for men and women. One of six support groups for adult family members of those living with a serious mental illness. This meeting is not intended for the individual who has a mental illness. Meets in person and online (Zoom). Complete listing on the website calendar.

A decision-making committee to determine eligibility and the appropriate level of services for preschool children aged 3-5. The CPSE is a multidisciplinary team established to conduct meetings to develop, review, or revise the Individual Education Program (IEP) of a student with a disability. The parent or legal guardian is included as a member of the committee.

Offers a variety of support groups for those with active alcohol and substance use, those in recovery, and family and friends affected by a loved one's alcohol or substance use. CELEBRATE WOMEN IN RECOVERY - Tuesdays from 6pm-7pm. A women's recovery support group. PARENT GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP - Meets 2nd & 4th Thurs. of the month from 6:30pm - 8pm. Contact Facilitator Jackie prior to attendance at 716.984.8375. A support group for parents who have experienced grief and loss due to someone's substance use. GRANDPARENTS & CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP - Meets virtually every 3rd Wednesday of the month virtually on ZOOM, from 6:30pm-7:30pm. A support group for grandparents & caregivers caring for a child or adult impacted by substance use. TOPIC DISCUSSION - meets virtually every second and fourth Monday from 7pm-8pm Online via ZOOM (refer to calendar page for more information). RECOVERY BOOK CLUB- meets in-person on the 3rd Wednesday's of the month. Book selection rotates monthly.

Provides swimming lessons, summer day camp, teen programs (including a teen leaders program), youth sports and fitness, preschool, and various recreational facilities.

Provides weekly programs at the Batavia Senior Center. Some of the programs offered are bridge, line dancing, cribbage, arthritis chair-based exercise, quilters, and painting classes. New groups are always being organized. Special programs such as 55 Alive Driver Refresher Course, educational, health, and informational programs are also offered. Day trips to concerts, exhibits, musical productions, restaurants, and areas of special interest are also scheduled in the spring, summer, and fall. Senior groups and clubs exist in most areas of the county which offer luncheons and pot luck dinners. Most groups offer programs of interest, entertainment, day trips, and other recreational activities.

Works with Older Adult Volunteers who volunteer between 5 and 40 hours each week and draw from personal wisdom and experience to help children meet social, academic, and developmental goals under the supervision of teachers and center directors. Foster grandparents serve at one of the following educational sites: Head Start Centers, Buffalo Public Schools, charter or parochial schools, educational preschool programs, and select after school educational programs. Eligible adults are those ages 55 and above, who live in Erie County and meet income guidelines.

Therapeutic Summer Programs are provided for youth with DD, ADHD, or Autism entering first grade through age 16. These are 5-week day programs; no overnight care provided. Community Connections: A replication of an evidence-based summer program for children and adolescents (entering first grade through age 16) with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (Asperger's, high-functioning autism, and PDD-NOS) or other disabilities. Provides children with intensive training, experience, and practice in social and emotional skills allowing them to make friends and learn to better connect with peers, siblings, teachers, and parents/caregivers. Although designed to support children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders, a clinical diagnosis is not required to participate as long as the child demonstrates social-communication difficulties. Program targets development of key social competencies using direct instruction, fun and engaging practice exercises, and recreational activities in a summer camp format.
