Day habilitation for developmentally disabled individuals. Day habilitation is a compilation of supports and services, outlined in each individual's day habilitation plan, to help him or her develop and attain life goals that he or she has identified as meaningful and desirable. Staff support is provided to assist and support individuals with daily life activities, skills development, and the achievement of meaningful connections and relationships within their community. Activities may include: volunteer opportunities, dance, drama, art, crafts, sewing and quilting, wood working, gardening, cooking and baking, exploring the community and more. Transportation provided in Chautauqua County for most.

The Columbia County Department of Health's Emergency Preparedness Division, in collaboration with the Columbia County Office of Emergency Management, is responsible for the planning, response, mitigation, and recovery to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive incident, as well as an all hazard natural disaster.

Monitors new building conditions and construction and oversees the maintenance of older multi-family structures. Enforces the state and local building codes and housing standards and ordinances. Reviews applications for permits of new buildings, repairs, alterations, signs, and rooming houses. Accepts complaints from tenants about conditions the landlord fails to resolve.

Hears cases involving vandalism, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, traffic violations, and other defenses that happen within the village or town. Accepts payments for restitution or fines ordered through the court.

A 16 week empowerment class to assist participants with charting a path to self-sufficiency. Participants are matched with mentors to help them reach their goals.

Services offered by the CWRC include caregiver education/support and access to respite vouchers. Caregivers who are not receiving respite under Medicaid or another funded program are eligible to apply. The CWRC follows a caregiver-directed program: the caregiver is responsible for identifying a respite provider, providing guidance on what level of care is provided, and determining when care is provided.

A strength-based program that serves youth ages 0-21 years with serious emotional difficulties, developmental disabilities (if in foster care), and medical fragility. Enrollment in the program is voluntary and no fees are charged to the family. Staff meet with the family/youth in their home and other locations chosen by the family.

Provides neutral alternative dispute resolution programs to help people solve conflicts, no matter the situation or setting. The Center does not provide direct legal representation or advocacy services but can provide referrals to the agencies providing these services. Mediation can:

• Help parties with civil and family legal issues who are looking for an alternative to court
• Help couples looking to get divorced and or separated
• Help landlords and tenants work out non-emergency issues
• Help parents and schools agree on special education matters
• Help employees and employers resolve conflict
• Help neighbors restore harmony in the community
• Help families handle issues with teens, siblings, and aging adults
• Help parents work out custody and visitation arrangements

Services are offered virtually, over the phone, and in person. In addition to mediation programs, the Center collaborates with local civil legal services providers to offer holistic legal services for victims of crime in Erie, Niagara, and Genesee Counties. Center staff will work with victims to identify legal issues and to discuss pathways to achieving justice. The Center also offers Education and Training workshops that provide skills-based trainings, consultation, and coaching services.

Provides dog obedience training for dogs 6 months or older, and up to date on all vaccinations.
