Families Together collaborates with families, schools, policymakers and service providers to ensure families receive the services needed for their children. An annual legislative luncheon during session allows families to have the opportunity to voice their concerns and ideas with policymakers. The goal is to ensure that all children and youth have the support they need in order to succeed. The board and staff are made up primarily of family members and youth representing thousands of families from across the state whose children have been involved in many systems including mental health, substance abuse, special education, juvenile justice, and foster care.

Provides an intensive day rehabilitation program for women and women with children that offers medically supervised services within a safe, supportive, gender specific environment. Licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS).

Offers Adult Education Classes. Sample course offerings include: The Living History of Frederick Law Olmsted; Yoga for Every Body; Crafting; Mah Jongg and Long Island Local History Series with Chris Verga. In Person Classes are offered however, as Fire Islanders live in many locations off-season, remote classes will continue to be offered as well. Virtual participants are responsible for having their own electronic device with proper connectivity, as well as basic competence in the use of these platforms. Provides a range of specialized assessments and evaluations of developmental, learning, neurologic and psychiatric issues in children, adolescents, and young adults. Serves any child ages preschool through young adult who is struggling academically and/or experiencing emotional or behavioral problems related to a neuropsychological deficit. Parent and professional education workshops are offered by North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center staff who have expertise in child development and neuropsychology. Offers school consultation to help educators work with children with neuropsychological deficits more effectively.

Educates students within the school district boundary.

New York State Commission for the Blind's (NYSCB) Business Enterprise Program (BEP) offers opportunities for individuals who are blind to gain the training and skills necessary to manage one of several vending facilities located in Federal and state office buildings throughout the state. After completing an intensive training program, BEP managers become proficient in all aspects of retail management including purchasing products, controlling inventory, marketing products, maintaining good customer relations, and keeping accurate records.

Assists in planning and development of waste management facilities in the town. Owns the MacArthur Resource Recovery Facility and provides refuse and recyclables collection to 13,000 homes. A Public Benefit Corporation. Room 301

Fifteen week parenting course designed to prepare participants from diverse backgrounds to take on leadership roles in their communities. Provides retreats, workshops and a practicum to empower participants. No cost meals and child care provided. Call for meeting times.

Offers outpatient support services for any individual who has gone through a colostomy, iliostomy or other ostomy care, wound ostomy and continence. A nurse evaluates each patient's needs and helps them deal with everyday effects, learn to live with it, and to lead a productive lifestyle.

Offers a variety of support groups for families and friends of those with mental illness.

Offers a 12-week Target Fitness Weight Management program for adults with weight management or other health related issues such as Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, or High Cholesterol. Program strives to guide participants to develop research-based skills to facilitate gradual and permanent weight loss through individualized strategies and goals. Registration required. The Hudson Valley Justice Center offers direct representation and advice to low income residents of the Hudson Valley. The office focuses on the following areas of law: Eviction defense and other landlord-tenant disputes, domestic violence, Benefits hearings for eligible citizens, Immigration, Family Law Matters.

TPTR supports the growth and development of parents and children as caring people who treat themselves, others, and the environment with respect and dignity through competency-based learning and mentorship. It is a strength-based program to help families incorporate new, positive and nurturing patterns into their homes while being affirmed and empowered by mentors, adults who were teen parents and have overcome obstacles. Parents and children generally focus on the same topic during a session. They may learn this content through separate activities which are geared to their developmental stages and interests.

Offers programs that serves students with moderate to severe developmental delays and plays an integral part in the lives of the students they teach. Premm works as a team, in cooperation with the parents, to ensure that each student develops to his/her maximum potential academically, socially, and physically and achieves his/her highest level of independence. Educates high school students about alcohol and drug abuse and offers help if they are struggling with addiction.
