Provides a safety net for individuals who have no other way to pay for costs - including but not limited to medical bills, counseling expenses, burial and funeral costs, and lost wages - resulting from being victims of crime.

Protects life and property and ensures the safety of the boating public on the 500 square miles of navigable waterways in the Police District, from the Connecticut state line which bisects the Long Island Sound, to the New York state line three miles south of Fire Island in the North Atlantic Ocean. Land areas covered include Fire Island and Jones Island barrier beaches and the islands of the Great South Bay. Marine units also respond to water and ice rescues on the inland lakes, ponds and streams of the District. Barrier beach units, boats and the SCUBA team are available 24 hours a day. In addition to normal enforcement duties, Marine officers enforce the NYS Navigation Law and the Environmental Conservation Law, as well as local ordinances unique to the waterways and barrier beach. The Suffolk Police Marine Bureau aggressively enforces the New York State's boating while intoxicated (BWI) laws. The Marine Bureau should be notified of any water-related incidents. We should also be informed of any unusual activity in waterfront areas which you may observe, such as patterns of larcenies, suspicious persons or boats, so that we may direct our patrols. All Marine Patrol vessels and our headquarters at Timber Point maintain a watch on Marine VHF Channel 16. Offers senior living apartments for older adults who want a community-like environment, but not the hassle of home ownership maintenance, along with the conveniences of other care amenities, if needed.

Provides early childhood education and family support services to children and families. The program goal is to offer a wide range of social and educational experiences to help prepare children and families for a successful transition into kindergarten. Also offers home visitors to families of program participants and to families who do not have a Head Start within their school district. Visits are designed to strengthen family protective factors and encourage family resilience using supportive services, education on child development, offering community referrals, and supporting families with their goals.

Exercise classes are conducted throughout the week. Exercise equipment is available daily Monday-Friday.

Provides outreach and assistance to people in need of food, entitlement programs, information, and referrals. The van visits user friendly locations, libraries, homeless enclaves, parks, community events, and shopping center parking lots. Includes an on board food pantry with basic food staples.

Assists with injuries, diagnoses of illnesses and long term conditions. Provides regular well-child and well-adult check ups, immunizations, and offer hospital and outpatient care. Offers primary medical care, sick visits, allergy shots, physicals and EKG's.

Offers scenic vistas of the Cold Spring Harbor, bird watching, hiking trails, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing trails.

Provides a 2-3 day supply of food to individuals and families in need living in the town of East Hampton. Offers a variety of adaptive sports programs including; Handcycling, Yoga, Tai Chi, water/alpine skiing, adaptive climbing, golf clinic, wheelchair table tennis and other activities.

Offers individual, family and group counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and families in coping with emotional problems and mental illness, along with medication treatment options.

Provides staff, parents, and other community agencies as appropriate in meeting the child's nutritional needs so that nutritional care provided by Head Start compliments and supplements that of the home and community. Investigates and intervenes on behalf of adults who are unable to act on their own behalf, manage their own affairs, or who are in immediate danger. Responds and investigates reports of child abuse or neglect. Ongoing supervision for those at risk of abuse is also available.

Donations of new toys and books, etc are accepted by the child life department to be used by the children who are both inpatients and outpatients. Also monetary donations are also accepted, and used in a variety of ways, one of which pays for families of children who have no insurance, and are limited in their funds, or a donor can choose a specific area.

Provides reference, information and referral, readers advisory and e-reference. Programs and services include Teen Advisory Board, arts and crafts, cooking instruction and a Summer Reading Club.

Offers a center-based and home-based pre-school for children with and without disabilities which emphasizes social, emotional, and academic growth in a supportive, safe environment. Also provides early intervention services for children with developmental disabilities and their families including evaluation and services in all areas of development including special education, psychological services, speech, language, occupational and physical therapy, nursing services, and family support and advocacy services. Early Head Start and Head Start is provided in collaboration with Pro Action of Steuben and Yates.
