Temporary Assistance is the cash component of the Assistance Programs. Eligible needy families with children, single adults or childless couples receive a cash benefit either paid to them or to a vendor to pay for specific household needs such as shelter, heat, and utilities.

Monitors new building conditions and construction and oversees the maintenance of older multi-family structures. Enforces the state and local building codes and housing standards and ordinances. Reviews applications for permits of new buildings, repairs, alterations, signs, and rooming houses. Accepts complaints from tenants about conditions the landlord fails to resolve.

Using the social determinants of health as a framework, there are four main program areas: Community Health Education, Food Systems, Maternal Health, and Social Supports.

Provides postal services to area residents.

Recommends most inexpensive and efficient ways to make building accessible to people with disabilities.This service is free to consumers and families. There is a charge to businesses and organizations.
