Responsible for the enforcement of laws which relate to the construction, repair, demolition, removal, or relocation of buildings or structures. Also responsible for researching, establishing, maintaining, and overseeing the implementation of general and specific/area plans for land use.

Provides SNAP benefits monthly through EBT cards that can be used at grocery and other retail stores that have been authorized by the SNAP division.

Offers a substance abuse prevention program that provides school districts with information, education, and counseling services.

Provides supportive transitional services to students graduating from high school to a job. Services include vocational counseling, independent living skills, work ethics training, and social and interpersonal skill building.

Offers a wide range of licensing, records, and informational services to town residents. Licensing and permits include marriage licenses, hunting/fishing licenses, disabled parking permits, dog licenses, and solicitor licenses. Other services include maintaining town records and archives. Prepares and collects property taxes for residents of the Town Lowville from January through May 31st. After May 31st all paperwork goes to the Lewis County Treasurer's Office.

Provides individualized services and support to individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI) and their families. Allows ABI survivors to explore their capacity for learning within a member-driven environment that offers a variety of activities and supports, such as creative writing, memory-enhancement activities, and music and art programs.

Provides formal instruction for students in 4th through 8th grades.

Provides information and public awareness of West Nile Virus to the community, and educates residents to remove anything that might hold standing water, such as tires, wheelbarrows, buckets, etc, and report irremovable standing water which could create a mosquito breeding ground.

Offers immigration legal representation to low-income refugees, asylees, and other immigrants.

Operates Medical Loan Closet service which can loan wheelchairs, walkers, canes, commodes, crutches and other assistive devices.

*Provides patients and families with timely and accurate information through digital and print media about retinal degenerative diseases and the research to overcome them, as well as low or no vision coping strategies, resources, and services. * Motivate patients and families to increase public awareness of AMD and other retinal degenerative diseases and encourage public support for retinal disease research. *Provides information about genetic testing, treatments being developed, treatments being evaluated in clinical trials, and approved therapies.

Provides rehabilitation services designed to restore maximum functioning and independent living to person medically-disabled or disabled.
