The program may assist if an individual already has filed a lawsuit, wants to file a lawsuit, or has been sued in the Federal US District Court for the Western District of New York. The volunteer attorney can provide: 1.) Information about federal court procedures and the law as it applies to the facts provided by the client; 2.) Advice about preparing pleadings, motions, or other court documents 3.) Advise about discovery and motion practice; 4.) Referrals to other services. This program may be able to help with non-criminal matters in federal court. The attorney will not go to court with the client.
