Migrant Health Services is a collaborative service offered by the County Health Department and the Hudson Valley Migrant Health Program of the Hudson River Community Health Center that provides outreach and education to migrant farm workers in Orange County to reduce their risk of contracting or spreading communicable diseases and to improve occupational health and safety.

The Problem Gambling Prevention Program is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the negative impact that problem and compulsive gambling has on the individual, family and community while ensuring access to preventative and treatment services.

Provides special wish fulfillment to children with terminal or life threatening illnesses, chronologically aged 3 to 17 years old. Application may be downloaded from the website, or call to have it mailed.

The building department monitors new building conditions and construction, and oversees the maintenance of older multi-family structures. Also enforces the state and local building codes, housing standards and ordinances, to the review of applications for permits of new buildings, repairs, alterations, signs, and rooming houses, in addition to electrical and plumbing work. The building department accepts complaints from tenants about conditions the landlord fails to resolve.

Offers a lunch meal, during the week, for senior in the local community, giving them an opportunity to eat with and socialize with others.

Provides staff-supportive phone lines to offer around-the-clock companionship and peer support to persons in distress or in need of someone to listen.

Offers a support group for caregivers of Alzheimer's patients.

Provides year round swimming and aquatic programs for everyone of all ages. The swimming pool allows for free swimming, along with swimming classes for all levels.

Responsible for coordinating all activities necessary to protect New York's communities from natural, technological and man made disasters and other emergencies that threaten the State. NYSEMO coordinates Emergency Management Services for the State by providing leadership, planning, education and resources to protect lives, property and the environment.

Provides child safety seat inspections, installations and offers child car safety information

Also provides a special collection of books for parents of children with special needs.

Provides a family resource center with a focus on women and girls that serves women of all ages through skill building, resource coordination and empowerment.

Offers various formats to educate and help people understand AIDS/HIV, and to break the stereotypes of the disease, and what resources are available in the community to access HIV testing services.

Provides financial assistance to eligible individuals diagnosed with arthritis, for various medical-related issues, including funding to help families pay for recreational/hobbies for children with arthritis.

Provides a support group for Spanish-speaking parents of children with emotional or behavioral disabilities, to share resources, experiences, concerns, ideas and solutions

Provides lost and found animal listings, picks up dogs, provides ambulance service for cats in need, enforces local and town ordinances and issues summonses.
