To review eligibility to file a petition and court jurisdiction over the nature of complaint in matters involving family offenses and juvenile delinquency. Complaints which are within the jurisdiction of Family Court are either referred to the court for intervention or to the diversion services of the probation department when required and eligible.

The Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program provides funding for five component services: Street Outreach to engage homeless individuals and families living on the street Emergency Shelter to improve the number and quality of emergency shelters for homeless individuals and families Homeless Prevention to prevent families/individuals from becoming homeless Rapid Re-Housing to move families form shelter to permanent housing HMIS Homeless Management Information System or comparable data base costs The one ESG component that assists the public directly is Homeless Prevention. Most ESG monies are not accessible directly to the public. If you are homeless in Nassau County, you may be benefiting from ESG if you are in a shelter that is sub-granted ESG Program funds. These funds may assist with staffing, operational costs, food for people staying in the shelter, and other items. If you are in a shelter and your household comes up on the Coordinated Entry List maintained by the local Continuum of Care (CoC), you may be offered Rapid Re-Housing services funded by ESG. There are several Rapid Re-Housing programs operating in Nassau County.

Works with youth who have been placed on probation through a parent or school PINS petition and are at risk of being adjudicated to higher level probation or placement in a Division for Youth facility. Offers home and/or school visits on a weekly basis. Services include, but are not limited to, anger management, school advocacy, life skills coaching, communication skills, job assistance, self -esteem, self-awareness and parent education. Offers a rigorous boot camp-style certificate program that transforms learners with no data analytics background into confident data analysts who can contribute effectively to data lifecycle activities such as data sourcing; data munging, wrangling and storage; data modeling and statistical analysis; and data visualization and data-based storytelling. Courses are taught 100 percent virtually through our proprietary learning management system with a combination of asynchronous and synchronous sessions via Zoom. Live online sessions (synchronous) take place three days per week. Live sessions are recorded, but students are expected to attend all live sessions to be successful. Call for detailed information.
