Assists the Christian Church on Long Island in the responsible evangelism of troubled youth and their families offering hope through caring relationships and developmental opportunities for the whole person (spiritual, mental, physical, social). Services include ministries for mothers, those in jail, and one-to-one approaches. Also offers an afterschool tutoring program called Partners To Potential for children 7-10 years of age. Also partners with a vast amount of churches in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Operates a thrift store used and new items for sale, and proceeds go towards the food pantry. Families registered in the food pantry program receive a 50% discount. Also accepts donations of new or clean and good condition used household items, toys, books, kitchen utensils, etc.

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center-located at Mercy currently performs radiation therapy treatments in two linear accelerators to meet our patients' needs. Need to be physician referred- by appointment only.

This is a 12 week small group meeting for parents and caregivers. The program includes activities, discussions, a family-style meal, and complimentary childcare.

The Ombudsman Program is an effective advocate and resource for older adults and persons with disabilities who live in nursing homes, assisted living and other licensed adult care homes. Ombudsmen help residents understand and exercise their rights to good care in an environment that promotes and protects their dignity and quality of life.

Offers long-term home care to individuals require care and prefer to stay at home, rather than enter a nursing home. Also provides specialized care in long-term care for disabled and chronically ill. Social workers are available to help these individuals and their families utilize other related services within the community.

Provides free tutoring for adults who need help with reading and writing, and for adults learning English as a second language. Trained volunteer tutors work with clients on an individual and small group basis. Family literacy programs involve reading activities and programs for adults and children.

A one-on-one support program patient to patient and family member to family member. Program may be limited by availability of volunteers.

Provides a number of support services to help families cope with a child with mental or emotional disabilities. Services include a food and clothing bank, after school activities, preschool programs, parenting education and a support group, parent/child activities, and a resource library with books and videos on all aspects related to parenting and family life, and about children with emotional/behavioral challenges.

Offers workshops and training on numerous topics relevant to professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents working with children and adolescents with autism. Workshops are conducted by seasoned professionals in the autism field. Training sessions are typically three hours in length and are designed to actively engage participants as much as possible. They may include hands-on learning activities. Presentations are also available and can take place at the Center or at other community locations. Mix of Zoom, online and in-person options.

Investigates reports of alleged child abuse and/or maltreatment made to the New York Central Register, via the toll free number, pertaining to residents of Suffolk County. All calls remain confidential. The Bureau also arranges for ongoing child protective and rehabilitative services to the child and the family.

Recognizes the importance of sustained employment for individuals under community supervision. Probation assists area employers to ask questions of Probation Officers about work schedules and other work environmental related issues. Camp Viva is a one week, sleepaway camp which is part of a year-round program for children, families and individuals affected or infected with HIV/AIDS. If one member of the family is infected with AIDS or HIV, then the whole family is eligible to attend camp.
