After approval of application, a comprehensive professional energy audit of the applicant's home will be conducted. Based on the audit and the funds available, weatherization measures will be installed. When work has been completed, a post-inspection will be completed to ensure adherence to state weatherization program standards.

Grants could cover any expense associated with the disease that is not covered through another means. Families receiving the assistance will be encouraged to donate all usable equipment and other items after they are no longer needed. Organizations such as the MDA's Loan Closet will make the equipment available to other families in need.
