Offers workshops geared toward wellness, work readiness and employment seeking strategies. Program held at South Country, Wyandanch, Brentwood, Central Islip School Districts high schools. Suffolk offers priority registration for military-connected students, helping you secure the classes and schedules you need. Suffolk proudly accepts military training credits that are recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE), which helps service members and veterans obtain college credit for their military training and experience. The overarching goal of the Campaign for Achievement is academic and social improvement for youth populations, as well as overall developmental growth. Programmatic curriculum is comprised of three critical components to address the academic, personal and social needs of participating youth: academic development, social development, and cultural and global awareness.

Dedicated to creating, publishing and distributing tactile illustrations for readers who are blind or visually impaired. Creative Adaptations for Learning (CAL) produces books, flash cards, and other educational materials which use raised lines and textured shapes to help visually impaired people recognize shapes and objects the product is particularly useful for developing reading readiness (braille or print), orientation and mobility and communication skills. Young children, their parents, siblings, teachers and Occupational Therapists, any of whom may be blind or visually impaired, use these materials...as well as children who have dyslexia, autism, cerebral palsy or learning delays. Serves a national geographic area.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a Federally funded program that assists eligible households in meeting their home energy needs. If eligible, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit per program year and could also be eligible for emergency HEAP benefits if you are in danger of running out of fuel or having your utility service shut off.” The 2024-2025 Regular HEAP benefit opened on November 1, 2024. The 2024-2025 First and Second Emergency is scheduled to open January 2, 2025. The 2024-2025 Heating Equipment Repair and Replacement benefit opened on October 1, 2024. The 2024-2025 HEAP Clean and Tune benefit opened on October 1, 2024. The 2024-2025 Cooling Assistance Benefit is schedule to open on April 15, 2025.

Designed to provide a model response program to civilians within their community. The presentation provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. This presentation is designed for any public or private building personnel, to educate them on how to respond in the event of an active shooter situation. This 2-hour program provides practical lessons on how to save lives. This program is available for all congregations, schools, offices, and businesses in the 5 East End towns of Suffolk County. Offers a 12 credit certificate program that has been developed to provide essential knowledge and skills in the interrelated areas of marketing, advertising, and public relations. There are two components of the certificate program. The first is composed of three required courses and the second is an elective course which enables students to direct their learning in support of their professional objectives. Sample course offerings include: Marketing; Marketing, Promotion and Advertising; Public Relations; Consumer Motivation and Behavior; Marketing Research and Advertising and Graphic Design. Offers an after school enrichment program for elementary and middle school children. Classes are specific to each child's desire to enhance or learn new skills in the these activities: Science Adventures, Math/Strategy Games, Indoor Basketball, Dance, African Drumming, and Theater.

Provides a comprehensive array of support services for individuals and families in need. Services include emergency and other financial assistance, counseling, benefits assistance, addiction support, case management, employment referrals, holiday programs and more.

Monthly networking support groups for women with breast cancer, at any a stage, including those who are post treatment. The group is informational and supportive and facilitated by a licensed mental health professional. Gildaâs Club Westchester also offers a free bilingual support hotline for women with breast cancer. Through the hotline, women with breast cancer will be able to receive a distress screening and up to six sessions of short-term phone counseling from a Gildaâs Club licensed mental health professional, all completely free of charge. During the 50-minute phone sessions, a licensed mental health professional will also work with individuals to identify strategies for coping and next steps in their psycho-social treatment.

Provide supervised living arrangements in a group setting for adults with developmental disabilities.

Victim-centered, compassionate medical and forensic care in a private setting for rape and sexual assault survivors. Free physical examination with an injury assessment, collection of forensic evidence and appropriate prophylaxis medications provided by specially trained medical professionals. Victim Information Bureau of Suffolk (VIBS) will provide accompaniment by a rape crisis counselor for emotional support during the exam and follow-up by the SANE Liaison for counseling resources, medical and legal advocacy.
