Provides three types of alcoholism meetings: open, which are open to anyone closed, for members and newcomers affected by another person's drinking and ala-teen, restricted to individuals up to 18 years of age. Special focus meetings are available for women, men, gays, and parents. Anonymity is protected for all members. Nassau County information service can provide pamphlets, meeting lists and al-anon information for clergy and social workers, health and education professionals. Arrangements can be made for speakers to present at schools, health fairs and other institutions. Monthly open meetings are specifically available for clergy, doctors, social workers and general public.

Provides a not-for-profit, full-service speech and hearing center. We provide speech, language, and hearing evaluations and therapy to individuals and groups of all ages and all types of communication disorders. The HY Weinberg Center for Communication Disorders provides speech-language evaluations and intervention in-person and remotely, via telepractice. Speech/Language services include: Comprehensive Speech/Language; Evaluations; Individual and Group Therapy and Parent/Family Education. Hearing services include: Complete Audiological Evaluations; Hearing Aid Evaluations; Fitting and Dispensing of Hearing Aids; Immittance Testing; Central Auditory Testing; Auditory Brainstem Response Testing (ABR); Otoacoustic Emissions Testing and Aural Rehabilitation. Group programs include: TOTalk; KIDTalk; PreRead; Social Communication Groups; Accent Modification/English Conversation Group; Adult Communication Group and Transgender Voice Group. Provides weekly respite care services designed to help families care for their children who have a serious emotional disturbance (SED) diagnosis and to foster an increase in the child's socialization skills.

Provides access to job database individuals with visual impairments or other disabilities, offers counseling for displaced homemakers, disabled individuals, or others in transition or "beginning again" situations. Also services include basic skills training and remediation, GED preparation, youth competency, work experience, occupational/vocational training, on-the-job training and customized training for eligible employers. Serves as the liaison between County government and its large Hispanic population. Coordinates resources for the Hispanic community with the goal of educating, empowering and developing integration initiatives that will foster greater participation in Nassau County's social, economic, and civic life. Works with the County Executive's Office and other County agencies on the research, analysis, and implementation of policy to ensure that the Hispanic community is afforded equal opportunities, meaningful engagement, and access to Nassau County government. Provides services to crime victims and witnesses involved in the criminal justice process. Services Include: Assistance with applying to New York State Crime Victims Board for compensation; Information on your role in the criminal justice process and the significant stages of the process; Assistance with security measures to help protect your safety; Court information and case information. This includes explaining each step of the proceeding in order to help alleviate confusion and the resulting anxiety. Additionally court dates, times and places can be confirmed along with information on what to expect when you get there; Court accompaniment. If desired, a staff member of the Victim Services Unit will accompany the victim or witness to hearings and trial in order to provide support; Assistance with Property Return; Intervention with creditors and employers; Referrals to any social services you may need and Assistance with post-conviction proceedings, including the preparation of a Victim Impact Statement if a pre-sentence report is prepared in the case; speaking at the time of sentencing for felony offenses; and notifications regarding the defendant's parole or release from a correctional facility.
