A non-licensed New York State Office of Mental Health program that provides long-term or permanent housing for residents 55 years and older with a mental health diagnosis in a setting where they can access the support services they require to live successfully in the community. There is no medication room on site. La Rosa Villas is a 60-unit building with 10 units reserved for the Supportive Housing Program. Heat, air conditioning, hot water and electric are included in the rent. All 10 units are fully furnished and include start-up items such as linens, dishes, silverware, and pots and pans. Apartments feature a fully equipped kitchen with a range, refrigerator and microwave, and a wall-mounted flat screen TV including basic cable service and in-unit storage. On-site laundry facilities are available at no cost to the tenant. There is also off-street parking. Tenants have access to a community room, lounges, and a computer lab. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in common areas in the buildings. Buildings are 100 percent smoke free, with designated smoking areas provided outdoors. Tenants will be assigned to a housing specialist on-site to assist with linkages in the community, provide advocacy, and guide tenants on how to maintain an apartment. Housing specialists are on-site Monday through Friday during business hours. The program will be staffed with security on overnight and weekend shifts.
