Provides adoption services for animals that have been staying in temporary foster homes. Offers home-to-home adoptions for pet owners who need to find new homes for their pets.

FEMA may offer Temporary Housing Units such as travel trailers or manufactured housing units. These units are property of FEMA. Occupants may be eligible to stay in these FEMA-provided units for up to 18 months from the date of the disaster declaration while securing a permanent housing plan.

Provides youth and adults with employment and training oriented programs such as job readiness skills, skill building, pre-employment skills, employment referrals, job placement, post-employment services, entrepreneurial development and career directed training.

Handles legal matters including civil, criminal, small claims, and eviction cases within the Town of Ellisburg.

Provides outpatient and inpatient psychiatric services for individuals struggling with mental or emotional illness, through a team of psychiatrists, social workers, alcohol/drug abuse counselors, art and occupational therapists.

Performs annual inspection and testing of all scales, gas pumps and other weighing or measuring devices used for retail services. Investigates consumer complaints related to improper weighing or measuring.

Offers 6 Courthouses in the 5 western towns of Suffolk County (Babylon, Brookhaven, Huntington, Islip & Smithtown). District Court in the Cohalan Court Complex, Central Islip oversees; Criminal Court; trial jurisdiction over misdemeanors, violations and infractions; preliminary jurisdiction over felonies; traffic tickets charging a crime; Domestic Violence, Drug Court, Mental Health Court, Veterans Court, Human and Trafficking Court.
