During the final semester, all students participate in a medical coding Internship program. They intern in hospitals, physicians' offices, ambulatory care centers, and other healthcare facilities. Successful completion of the certificate prepares students to sit for the entry level national coding certification exam CCA (Certified Coding Associate) and provides the educational coursework required for the mastery coding certification exams CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) and CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist-Physician based).
