Assists eligible individuals in a crisis by issuing one-time, non-recurring payments to meet emergency situations. The unit may assist with security agreements to landlords, extermination fees, moving or storage expenses, and utility arrears payments to avoid shut-offs or to restore service. Financial assistance is made in the form of a loan for utility shut-off, evictions, moving/storage expenses, property repair, rental assistance, mortgage assistance, and foreclosure. A security agreement is provided to landlords instead of a security deposit. Emergency and immediate needs assisted include:

• Water Arrears (only for clients who are in danger of having their water shut off)
• Stoves/Fridges/Household Establishments of Furniture (for Households not receiving Temporary Assistance)
• Essential Property Repair for Homeowners (pending a health evaluation/inspection to confirm that the issue in need of repair poses a hazard to the residents' health)
• Extermination
• Grants of Assistance for Guide Dogs
• Enhanced Shelter Allowance Determination for Temporary Assistance Recipients
• SSI Check Replacement

Provides free meals to any kids and teens ages 18 and under (and young adults with disabilities under 21).

Program provides help to victims of crime through a variety of services. Assists with filing New York State Office of Victim Services compensation claims for reimbursement of out of pocket expenses related to the crime, including funeral expenses, medical/counseling expenses, loss of earnings, and/or loss of essential personal property. Provides transportation and accompaniment to court, and acts as liaison between police, courts, and victims. Also makes referrals for counseling, food, clothing, and shelter.

Offers comprehensive care to women of all ages. Services include obstetrics and gynecology, substance use and addiction treatment, maternity care, nutritional needs, joint replacement, and treatment for heart disease, breast abnormalities, diabetes, lymphadema, osteoporosis, and urinary incontinence.

Helps with clothing (sizes preemie through 4T), blankets, bibs, bottles, diapers, wipes, and basic infant care necessities.

Provides nursing, social services, home health aides, social workers, infusion therapy, home health evaluations and assessments, nutritional counseling, arranging of medical equipment and supplies, personal care/homemaker services, adult day care, and physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Long term home health care program available. Specialized programs available in pediatrics, behavioral health, and wound care. In-facility assessments for discharge planning at hospitals and skilled nursing facilities available upon request. Serves as a state provider in the MOMS (Medicaid Obstetrical & Maternal Services) Program, providing comprehensive support nursing services to prenatal and postpartum women.

Responds to calls for service, via 911. Regulates traffic, provides police protection, protects rights of persons, detects and apprehends violators of the law, and prevents violations of the law. Community Police Officer works with residents to address quality of life issues and improve police/community relations.

Free one hour courses in a variety of topics such as current events, history, and science. Classes are designed to provide older adults with opportunities for intellectual stimulation, learning, and discussion in accessible settings. Provides therapeutic ice skating lessons for the disabled of all ages. Lessons are held weekly and culminate in an annual ice show which all students perform in. Lessons are held in 4 different locations, 7 days a week. Skates, helmets, and walkers are provided for skaters. Also offers adaptive ice hockey available for current SABAH athletes who can skate independently, turf summer sport programs, recreational ice skating in the summer, and the Fit and Fun program which provides a physical education program for adults challenged by disabilities. Offers various programs to the community that have been developed to meet specific needs such as health education, screening services, and services related to cholesterol, blood pressure, hearing, diabetes, and hypertension. Also offers several support groups; more information can be found on the NFMMC web site.

Branch of the New York Supreme Court for Genesee County with broad authority over all categories of cases, including civil and criminal matters. The court generally handles civil matters seeking monetary damages greater than $25,000. It also hears cases where a party seeks to enjoin or stop certain actions by another party. The Supreme Court is the only court with the authority to address matters related to the termination of a marriage, including separation, annulment and divorce. While the Supreme Court has authority to hear criminal matters involving felonies (offenses punishable by more than one year in prison), generally outside New York City these matters are heard in the County Court.

Provides one month's rent or mortgage payment on behalf of a tenant or owner when this will guarantee 30 more days of occupancy.

Provides frozen meals available via pickup from participating senior center locations throughout Erie County. Seniors can choose between a 3, 5, 6, 8 or 10 meal pack that can be picked up once a week from participating locations. A roll, milk, and dessert are included with each meal.

Offers various youth enrichment programs that address character and leadership development, community projects, health and life skills, and cultural enrichment. Various recreation, sports, and art based activities are offered throughout the year. Also offers a day trip program for 4 weeks in July for a separate fee.
