• SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY/SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME (SSI): Appeal of benefit denial, Initial SSD/SSI applications, Continuing Disability Review (CDR/Cessations), and Overpayments
• PUBLIC BENEFITS: Appeal of benefit denial, termination or suspension of: Temporary Assistance, Food Stamps (SNAP), and Medicaid (MA)
• HOUSING LAW: Landlord/Tenant Disputes and Tenant’s Rights, Evictions (Advice & Counsel), and Section 8 Informal Hearings
• FAMILY LAW: Uncontested Divorces, Contested Divorces (disputes other than custody or child support) on a case by case basis, Child Support, and Custody/Visitation
• CONSUMER LAW: Bankruptcy advisement (Chapter 7), Formal complaints to Attorney General, Creditor Harassment, and Student Loan Discharge advisement (TPD-based on disability)
• ADVANCE DIRECTIVES: Power of Attorney, Other/related advanced directives (limited basis)

Offers Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) services, including permit tests, registrations for vehicles, boats, and trailers, enhanced driver licenses, non-driver identification, and REAL ID transactions. ##REENTRY##

Offers two support groups for parents who have experienced the loss of a baby: one group for those who have experienced stillbirth/early infant loss, and another for those who have experienced miscarriage/ectopic pregnancy.

Offers information and assistance, education, and screening for older adults ages 60 and older, adults and children with disabilities, as well as family members, caregivers, and professionals.

A decision-making committee to determine eligibility and the appropriate level of services for preschool children aged 3-5. The CPSE is a multidisciplinary team established to conduct meetings to develop, review, or revise the Individual Education Program (IEP) of a student with a disability. The parent or legal guardian is included as a member of the committee.

Provides outpatient mental health services to clients who seek help for depression, anxiety, suicidal feelings, and psychiatric illness.

Provides frozen meals available via pickup from participating senior center locations throughout Erie County. Seniors can choose between a 3, 5, 6, 8 or 10 meal pack that can be picked up once a week from participating locations. A roll, milk, and dessert are included with each meal.

Democratically run supportive living for persons in recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction. Use of drugs or alcohol, disruptive behavior, and non-payment of rent are causes for dismissal from the house.

Sells gently-used clothing, household items, and furniture at value prices to support the workforce development programs that help people find jobs and build careers. Donations gratefully accepted.

Provides secure, recovery oriented living environments for individuals with psychiatric disabilities. Program is committed to assisting clients to live meaningful, productive lives by providing flexible supports in a person-centered atmosphere. Residents of all programs learn the skills necessary to live independently. Treatment Apartments are certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health and provide consumers with the highest level of independence. Site is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Provides 12 one-bedroom apartments.

This is accomplished through three main elements:

• Resource Coordinators are the point of access for all the services of the program, they act as an in-person/virtual services resource working with employees to prioritize and create action plans to overcome obstacles, available by, text, e-mail, or phone call, connects employees with service organizations and programs available in Erie County. Employees can get the help they need at work rather than taking time off and trying to find the right service providers.

• Financial Education Classes: Resource Coordinators are certified as Financial Coaches and are trained in both financial literacy skills and coaching skills, financially focused classes provided as needed by the employer, subject matter ranges from budgeting, credit, S.M.A.R.T. spending goals, homeownership, etc., virtual classes and online platform offering worksheets and guides accessible at any time

• Work/Life Solutions Loan & Savings Program: $500 or $1,000 loan to assist in overcoming unexpected financial obstacles, available to employees in good standing who have been on the job for at least one year, repaid through payroll deduction and reported to credit bureau monthly to help improve or establish credit, a portion of the monthly repayment is set aside in a savings account; once the loan is paid the employee can continue to save $10/month or adjust as they see fit.

Office investigates harassment complaints and monitors equal employment and affirmative action policy and procedures. It also audits county contracts to maintain participation goals for Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), certifies businesses as women or minority owned, and monitors the county's personnel and hiring procedures to assure compliance with the County's affirmative action plan.
