Offers Brookhaven Learning Center at Samoset Middle School which is an included site program of the Brookhaven Learning Center. The Brookhaven Learning Center provides a continuum of services for students with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. Students participate in a modified New York State Curriculum with an emphasis on life skills. Serves students ages 12-21 in grades 7th-12th at the Middle School and Secondary Level. The Brookhaven Learning Center is offered at various locations.

Pick up and impound or return to their owners if known, domestic dogs who have strayed from their homes. Also includes, enforce laws and complaints regarding dogs who have bitten someone or are otherwise making nuisances of themselves. Most animal control programs are unable to handle nuisance wildlife.

A domestic violence program comprised of advocates and social workers located within the Erie County District Attorney's Office. Provides supportive counseling, resources, case management, and safety planning to survivors of Intimate Partner Violence. Specializes in providing advocacy within criminal courts and helping survivors review their options regardless of whether they have a criminal case. Free services are provided to anyone who identifies themselves as a victim of Domestic Violence. Services include BE SAFE Hotline; court accompaniment and advocacy; counseling; crisis case management; help with safety planning; information and referrals for counseling, housing, and other programs; help communicating with the Assistant District Attorney and police; help with medical, housing, employment and financial needs; education and training about abuse; assistance in filing Family Court Family Offense petitions; and VINE program registration for offender release information.

NEW’s evening offering, NEW at Night (NAN), is a nine-week program geared towards giving women a well-rounded introduction to the building trades and hands on training experience with tools and building materials. NAN is offered for women who have daytime commitments.

Responsible for investigating all allegations of Child Abuse and Neglect received by the Department from the New York Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment, part of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. Anyone can make a report of Child Abuse and/or Neglect if he/she is suspicious that a child (0-18 yrs of age) is being neglected or abused. The source of the report as well as the report is kept confidential. The source can be anonymous if the reporter is not mandated by law to report. Nassau County receives and begins investigating reports of abuse or maltreatment 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Call for more information.

Provides therapeutic and/or educational services to help children with diagnosed learning disabilities.

Provides a full range of HIV/STI/hepatitis prevention interventions including community outreach, peer training, education for at-risk youth, navigation and linkage for people living with HIV and HIV, and Hepatitis C testing. The purpose of the service is to decrease risk for HIV, STIs and hepatitis, decrease stigma and increase access to counseling, testing, and referral and to positively impact community norms related to risk. No STD testing at this facility.

Offers remedial courses for students in grades 6–12 to make up deficiencies in academic work. This wide variety of remedial courses can benefit students with low or failing grades. These courses help to address regression or summer slide in order to prepare students for upcoming courses. This does not replace a full course year. Residents within the ten (10) participating districts (listed below) whose children are registered in public, private or parochial schools, grades 6-12, are eligible to attend, with permission of their home school principal or designee. Non-resident students (in districts not listed below) are permitted to register after all residents are accommodated. Participating Districts for 2022 include: Babylon UFSD; Commack UFSD; Deer Park UFSD; Elwood UFSD; Huntington UFSD; Kings Park CSD; North Babylon UFSD; Northport-East Northport UFSD; South Huntington UFSD and Wyandanch UFSD (Regents Exams Only). Offers a wide range of licensing, records, and informational services to village residents, including disabled parking permits as well as maintaining village records and archives. Prepares and collects property taxes for residents of the Village of Castorland from June 1st through October 31st. After October 31st all paperwork goes to the Lewis County Treasurer's Office.

Promotes the independence of older adults age 60 years and older. Assists people to remain in the community through helping meet the unmet needs that older residents struggle with. This is a fund of last resort and must first be denied by DSS (for those income eligible for DSS).
