The Town of Babylon (Town) is making CDBG-CV funds available for low to moderate income Town of Babylon residents with mortgage arrears incurred due to a COVID-19 related loss of income. The Long Island Housing Partnership (LIHP) will administer the program. The aggregate amount of arrears payable under the Program cannot exceed $50,000 per household. No more than six consecutive monthly payments may be made. The first payment will be inclusive of all eligible accrued arrears subject to the cap.

Illness-related Expenses - medical co-pays, transportation for treatment, medical equipment, and childcare to keep siblings safe when parents must be with their hospitalized child. End of Life Expenses - will help with funeral arrangements and expenses, and provide bereavement support.

The unit may assist with security agreements to landlords, extermination fees, moving or storage expenses, and utility arrears payments to avoid shut-offs or to restore service. Financial assistance is made in the form of a loan for utility shut-off, evictions, moving/storage expenses, property repair, rental assistance, mortgage assistance, and foreclosure. A security agreement is provided to landlords instead of a security deposit. Emergency and immediate needs assisted include:
