Offers assistance in payments of mortgage, utility, property tax and water service. Services include negotionation with lenders, services for loan modifications, budget counseling, and legal services may be provided.

FEMA's Mortgage and Rental Assistance (MRA) Program is designed to cover rent or mortgage payments for those who have suffered a financial hardship as a result of a major disaster declared by the President. Persons suffering financial hardship who are unable to pay their rent or mortgage, and are facing eviction or foreclosure, may be eligible for this program. Assists eligible individuals in a crisis by issuing one-time, non-recurring payments to meet emergency situations. The unit may assist with security agreements to landlords, extermination fees, moving or storage expenses, and utility arrears payments to avoid shut-offs or to restore service. Financial assistance is made in the form of a loan for utility shut-off, evictions, moving/storage expenses, property repair, rental assistance, mortgage assistance, and foreclosure. A security agreement is provided to landlords instead of a security deposit. Low-interest loans for down payments, closing costs, repairs, and help securing USDA loans for purchases/repairs. Currently, amounts up to $10,000 may be borrowed starting at 3.5%, repayable over a period of up to 10 years. Other loan funds may also be available for additional purchase/repair assistance.

Provides help to low and moderate income residents on the North Fork of Eastern Long Island acquire affordable housing. Services offered are as follows: referral assistance and information; mortgage acquisition and foreclosure assistance; housing rehabilitation assistance; subsidized housing assistance; loan/grant application assistance; advocacy and counseling; fair housing law assistance; health, safety violations and code enforcement; weatherization referrals; utility payment assistance; legal referrals.

The Town of Babylon (Town) is making CDBG-CV funds available for low to moderate income Town of Babylon residents with mortgage arrears incurred due to a COVID-19 related loss of income. The Long Island Housing Partnership (LIHP) will administer the program. The aggregate amount of arrears payable under the Program cannot exceed $50,000 per household. No more than six consecutive monthly payments may be made. The first payment will be inclusive of all eligible accrued arrears subject to the cap.

Provides an emergency, 2 day supply of food one time per month from Community Emergency Food Pantry, and food as needed in the interim from the Outreach Office. Assistance with basic needs, rents and mortgages (when FEMA funds are available) and referrals when utilities are in arrears.

Provides one month's rent or mortgage payment on behalf of a tenant or owner when this will guarantee 30 more days of occupancy.

Provides financial assistance for eligible families in various ways: Basic Living Expenses - Rent, mortgage payment and/or utilities, supermarket gift cards, when these bills have become unmanageable after a child's diagnosis and/or a parent must stop working to care for their sick child. Illness-related Expenses - medical co-pays, transportation for treatment, medical equipment, and childcare to keep siblings safe when parents must be with their hospitalized child. End of Life Expenses - will help with funeral arrangements and expenses, and provide bereavement support.

Provides financial assistance for arrears of rent, mortgage, and electric and gas utilities payments for individuals that are HIV positive and are NOT on a housing subsidy with Evergreen Health. For the Jamestown area, assistance may also cover arrears of sewer service payments.
