* The Attorney for the Child (AFC) program at the Legal Aid Society of Rochester represents children in Monroe County Family Court. These attorneys, formerly known as Law Guardians, are appointed by the court to provide free legal representation to children in a variety of cases, including: Abuse. Custody. Foster Care. Represents lower-income taxpayers before the I.R.S. and in United States Tax Court or Federal District and Circuit Courts on these matters: collection audits examination and appeals
