A CISD will generally alleviate the acute stress responses which sometimes appear at the scene or immediately thereafter and will at least inhibit delayed stress reactions which can appear days, weeks or even months later.

  • Diabetes Counseling: For individuals with prediabetes or diabetes. Provides one-on-one visits with a diabetes care and education specialist to discuss individual needs and support.
  • Diabetes Self-Management Classes: For any individual with diabetes. Classes focus on the fundamentals of diabetes self-management, covering topics such as understanding diabetes, blood sugar monitoring, nutrition and exercise, acute and chronic complications, and diabetes medications.
  • Diabetes Support Group: For any individual with diabetes and those supporting them. Meets once every other month to share struggles, celebrate successes, and discuss topics related to diabetes management.

Provides a statewide system of accepting reports of suspected child abuse and child neglect. Reports can be made anonymously, but helpful for local child protective investigators to have someone to contact. All reports referred back to local social services which has time limit on follow-up and to file report as to whether allegations are indicated or unfounded.
  • Provides mental health engagement, intervention and follow-up support to help people remain connected with treatment providers. The teams may offer a range of services, including: Assessment. Crisis intervention. Supportive counseling. Information and referrals, including to community-based mental health services.
