This program is a psycho-educational 26 week course for men who batter. They are taught what the cycle of violence is, the impact on the family, and are helped to identify non-violent alternatives to their abusive behavior. Domestic Abuse Awareness Classes for Men (DAAC) accepts referrals for service from the courts, the Department of Social Services, substance abuse treatment programs and other counseling agencies.

Allows people the choice to remain in their home instead of moving to a nursing home. Provides nursing home residents the opportunity to return home or to the community safely with the necessary services and supports.

Offers independent living rental housing for older adults who want all the comforts of home without the unexpected costs of home ownership. Residents are offered a variety of daily social, cultural and recreational activities, including a Lifestyle Team to help enrich their lives. This living environment also is open to other considerations or care options which may be needed in the future.

Offers residents age 60 and over nutritious home delivered meals. Menus are prepared by a registered dietician according to Health Department Meal Service Standards. A staff of volunteers works in conjunction with our Jitney transportation program to distribute the home-delivered meals. Call or visit the Nutrition Site nearest your home to apply for Home Delivered Meals. A Nutrition Program Manager will make an appointment to do an assessment. The Town of Brookhaven Nutrition Program funding is provided by the United States Administration for Community Living through New York State Office for the Aging and Suffolk County Office for the Aging.

Provides opportunities for education, rejuvenation and reflection for residents,membership into community garden, staff and the community of Brentwood. Offers classes and workshops on financial literacy, computer basics, resume writing, nutrition, mental health and wellness.
