Lighthouse Mission seeks to serve the poor with the love of God in three distinct areas. Those three areas are a mobile food pantry, youth development, and community initiatives.

Offers a program that will provide students with the knowledge needed to perform the duties required of an entry-level Dialysis Technician trainee. The program covers the key principles of kidney function and failure and dialysis therapy, kidney dialysis machines, dialyzer preparation and reprocessing, as well as how to assist dialysis patients in managing their disease and treatment. The course is a remote format with 50 hours of instructor-led classes via Zoom video conferencing and access to an online system. Students with a high school diploma and who complete a minimum of one year of employment as a Dialysis Technician at an End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or medical facility can apply to take the Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing Technology (BONENT) Certified Hemodialysis Technician certifying exam. A current, government-issued ID and a clear record with no felonies is required to take the exam. This training is appropriate for RNs, EMTs, CNAs, PCTs and other health care professionals interested in specializing in dialysis. For those without healthcare experience, this course will provide basic dialysis treatment knowledge to make the student more marketable in applying for an employee training program at a Dialysis Treatment Center. Oversees the funding process for permanent housing programs that are for homeless households on Long Island. The Coalition is the central access point for housing on Long Island for persons that are homeless for the greatest lengths of time and/or have one or more disabling condition. The Coalition can assess all persons presenting as homeless in the region and refer to the best resource available. The Coalition has a homeless hotline to report street homeless persons in need of housing. Also, provides clothing, food and essentials when available. Call for further information.

Serves youngsters ages 5-18 who are diagnosed as having a severe emotional disorder and who need extensive psychiatric support. Diagnostic categories include, but are not limited to: attention deficit, anxiety, schizophrenia, paranoia and affective autism spectrum disorders. Services include 6:1:1 or 8:1:1 placement with appropriate support staff at the Sayville Academic Center and 8:1:1 placement with appropriate support staff at the Sequoya High School and Jefferson Academic Center. Psychiatric, rehabilitation, social work, and psychological services are offered. Students who no longer need intense psychiatric support can remain at their respective centers and receive counseling from Eastern Suffolk BOCES staff.

Provides representation, advice and referrals to Nassau County seniors relating to health care benefits, housing, wills and future planning concerns.

Offers individuals with traumatic brain injury, Medicaid funded services aimed at fostering independence and supporting participants residing in community-based settings. Provides case/care management, information and referrals to appropriate services such as rent subsidies, funds for furniture and household supplies.

Offers volunteer opportunities for those individuals who want to work in this type of emergency medical field. Training is done in stages, and must be completed to continue in the program.

Provides information regarding property taxes. Helps individuals determine if they may be eligible for a tax exemption and processes applications. Accepts property tax payments.

Families Together collaborates with families, schools, policymakers and service providers to ensure families receive the services needed for their children. An annual legislative luncheon during session allows families to have the opportunity to voice their concerns and ideas with policymakers. The goal is to ensure that all children and youth have the support they need in order to succeed. The board and staff are made up primarily of family members and youth representing thousands of families from across the state whose children have been involved in many systems including mental health, substance abuse, special education, juvenile justice, and foster care.

Works to serve and protect our residents through innovative programs to reduce inmate recidivism, by promoting sound fiscal policies and by working cooperatively with law enforcement and community groups throughout the county to improve safety in our jails and our neighborhoods. The Suffolk County Sheriff's Office: Operates the two Suffolk County correctional facilities (in Yaphank and Riverhead), provides county courthouse security and detention; Is responsible for patrolling and investigating all crimes committed on the county-owned property such as county government office buildings and plays a leading law enforcement role in the Long Island Pine Barrens; Has a Countywide DWI Enforcement Team which consists of Drug Recognition Experts (D.R.E.) and is funded by the STOP-DWI program; Issues pistol permits for the five East End towns of Suffolk County through its Pistol License Bureau; Has an Emergency Management Section: the Sheriff and the County Executive are the two County Officials with a broad range of authority in declaring a State of Emergency; Operates a Domestic Violence Bureau; Enforces the Orders of Protection; they arrest individuals charged with violating Orders of Protection and those with Family Offense related warrants; they provide victims with a safe refuge by removing batterers from the home, seizing weapons and executing all arrest warrants against the perpetrators of domestic violence; they have several specialized sections, including K-9, Marine Patrol, Dive Team, Mountain Bike Unit, ATV Unit, the Sheriff's Emergency Response Team (SERT), Honor Guard, Air Support Unit, Grants Bureau, tactical entry weapons team and sniper section; and Is the Downstate New York Coordinator for Project Lifesaver International. Project Lifesaver is a Countywide Emergency Locator Service capable of finding those diagnosed with cognitive impairment (Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia, Autism, Down Syndrome, etc.) which may cause them to wander and become lost.

Kingsway Manor Assisted Living offers 24-hour supervision, assistance with medication and personal care needs, meals served waitress-style with choice of entree, private rooms with private baths, a beauty salon-barber shop, daily housekeeping and laundry services, and diversified activities including intergenerational programs with the children of Kingsway Kids Center. Group transportation for shopping and community events is available, as well as transportation to medical appointments. This is a two-story building with 2 elevators and 120 beds.

Offers internship positions at the National Marfan Foundation that was founded in 1981 by people affected by the Marfan syndrome and their families. Its purpose is to: disseminate accurate and timely information about the condition to patients, family members and health care providers, provide support for patients and their families and support and foster research. Offers individualized case management provided by a team of experienced and compassionate social workers, Child-Life specialists, art Therapists specialists for children with a life-threatening illness and their families. Services include emotional support, palliative/bereavement support, financial assistance, and advocacy support.

Provides frozen meals available via pickup from participating senior center locations throughout Erie County. Seniors can choose between a 3, 5, 6, 8 or 10 meal pack that can be picked up once a week from participating locations. A roll, milk, and dessert are included with each meal.

Assists preschool children 3-5 years old who have been identified by their local school district's Committee on Preschool Special Education as having a disability via evaluation(s) based on the child's area(s) of need. Offers preventive services to avoid child placement in foster care, future child abuse, and the need for child protective services intervention. Provides services for families to achieve reunification when their children have been removed to foster care or other out of home placement. Also included are home-finding and adoption services.

Provides bone density test of the spine, hip or wrist to aid in the diagnosis for osteoporosis.
