PHS works with Putnam CAP and other groups to help those who are having a difficult time taking care of their pets. When we can help we do.

Preserves and promotes the Sagtikos Manor, the oldest house in the town of Islip. Offers tours and various events. The history of the manor mirrors the history of Long Island and New York State. Accepts and donates birthday gift items and school supplies for ill children and their well siblings.

Provides public workshops and forums on a variety of mental health-related topics. Also provides speakers for meetings, conferences, classes, groups and the general public.

Food pantry available to community members in need of food assistance. Items include (but are not limited to) fresh produce, frozen meats, and nonperishables. Individuals are eligible for food ONCE a month (there will be a sign-in sheet keeping track of visits)

Offers a variety of support groups such as Diabetic Support Groups,Breastfeeding Support Groups, Cancer Support Groups, Caregiver Support Groups, Bereavement Support Groups. Call for information on the various support groups available.

Offers a membership program to youth who are interested in being a part of the community, developing leadership skills and enriching their lives with a wide array of youth development programs and activities after school, during school vacations and during the summer.

Families Together provide information, peer support, recreation, referrals and linkages to services, support items, and advocacy for children, youth and families. A range of recreational activities for youth, peer-led support groups and peer self advocacy training and educational and vocational development are offered. There are support groups for parents of children with social, emotional, or behavioral concerns and a social worker will work with families and staff to help identify social, emotional or behavioral challenges at an earlier age through assessment, brief support/therapy, and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

Caseworkers and Senior Citizen Advocates from the Suffolk County Office for the Aging will answer questions and give assistance from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. on weekdays. Assistance may include: Information and Referrals; Guiding and connecting caregivers to needed services for themselves and their family members and Assisting caregivers with applications for benefit programs.

AAP is a license home health care service located in Nanuet, New York in Rockland County serving all the county’s towns like New City, Suffern, Airmont, Nyack, Orangeburg, Pearl River, Monsey and Chestnut Ridge.

Provides a short-term residential psychiatric treatment stabilization program for individuals suffering from acute symptoms, which helps to restore the patient to pre-crisis level of functioning. This program can help prevent a hospitalization and treat the patient in this alternative setting.
