St. Joseph's Veterans and First Responders Residence is a fully credentialed addiction and trauma treatment program. Our 25-member community of Veterans and First Responders are served by 24/7, medical care; psychiatric nurse practitioner, primary counselors, spiritual counselors, mental health care manager.

Offers virtual support groups for children with type 1 diabetes and their families. These groups, led by our team of pediatric diabetes experts, help children, their siblings, and parents manage the condition, and any social and emotional adjustments that may occur. Kindred Spirits engages parents and caregivers of children who have type 1 diabetes in an educational discussion with guest speakers. Participants share stories and challenges while receiving emotional support from their peers. Additional programs offered include: Kids Interested in Diabetes which teaches children 5-10 and their siblings about type 1 diabetes through games and activities; Dia-besties helps children ages 10-13 positively cope with managing type 1 diabetes; and an In-person teen group for teenagers ages 13-18 with type 1 diabetes. Designed to provide the opportunity of a college education to capable students who are historically disadvantaged due to limited financial resources and inadequate academic preparation. EOP students are provided ongoing support services and resources to help insure their collegiate success. Once admitted to the college via EOP, students have access to a myriad of services including but not limited to academic, pre-professional and personal counseling; tutoring; workshops; advocacy; and supplemental financial support. The Educational Opportunity Program is committed to excellence and seeks students who are truly motivated and willing to work hard to achieve their goals. Eligible students for the EOP program are students who are: Students who are residents of New York State; Students who have a high school diploma or its equivalent; Students who do not meet the regular admissions requirements of SUNY Farmingdale, but fall within the range of EOP standards and demonstrate academic potential; Students who are historically disadvantaged and meet the economic guidelines of eligibility as established by the Office of Special Programs in Albany and Students of all ethnic origins, if the above requirements are met, and meet the 2023-24 Income Guidelines specified. A 46 bed facility providing housing, meals, supervision, and services to individuals no longer able to maintain their own homes or apartments. Offers some assistance with dressing, walking, bathing, personal hygiene, grooming, and other routines of daily living, as appropriate. Provides day care and short term stay, respite, recreational and case management services.

Offers mental health support through assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, information and referrals to appropriate community mental health services and resources. The team responds to people in crisis, usually at their homes or at another community location, including at their office locations.

Provides a soup kitchen offering hot meals for anyone in need of a meal within the community. Also has special meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas, with one toy being distributed at Christmas to the children.

Provides AID/HIV/HEPC education to companies, organizations or groups to help dis-spell myths and to give the correct education, and what resources are available.

Provides consultation, training and coordination to over 100 parish outreach centers. Convenes parish staff and volunteers for networking purposes. These supportive services are provided to supplement the parishes' ability to meet the various needs in their local communities. DIRECT SERVICE TO CLIENTS IS DONE BY LOCAL PARISH OUTREACH CENTERS.

Free ID cards which are designed to help police, firefighters and emergency personnel interact with people who may not be able to communicate effectively. The cards explain that the person with this card may have difficulty understanding, following directions or communicating. The back of the card includes identifying information and an emergency contact.

Offers a set of home and community based Medicaid State Plan services: Other Licensed Practitioner (OPL), Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) and Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), aimed at supporting the social, emotional or behavioral health of Suffolk County youth, ages 5 through 21 and their families/caregivers. Other Licensed Practitioner (OPL) provides therapeutic services to youth by a licensed mental health professional. Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) offers client and family support in improving daily living, personal and community relationships. Psychological Rehabilitation (PSR) provides "hands on" assistance and practice of skills acquired through therapeutic or CPST services. Services can be individually accessed or used jointly.

Provides foreclosure prevention counseling to homeowners in default with their mortgages. Homeowners are advised of various options available to assist them in avoiding foreclosure.

Provides support group for individuals who are recovering from compulsive overeating.
