Home safety visitation program that includes an assessment for hazards related to lack of working smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers, blocked fire exits, paint in poor condition and other lead hazards, poor condition of roof, floors, walls, handrails, and steps, mold and water leaks, pests, and asthma triggers. After assessment, homes may be provided with information on fire safety, carbon monoxide poisoning, radon gas, pest control, smoking cessation, asthma triggers, and lead poisoning prevention. Eligible homes may receive supplies such as smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, radon test kits, fire extinguishers, cleaning supplies, and asthma management tools.

Provides primary health care and comprehensive dental care for all ages. Primary care includes back to school physicals, sick calls, annual physicals and wellness visits, immunizations, and chronic disease management. Dental care includes exams, cleanings and deep cleanings, fillings (composite and amalgam), teeth whitening, crowns/bridges, emergency care, dentures and partials, complicated extractions, and wisdom teeth removal.

Provides emergency services and cardiac care. Fully integrated with a cardiac care center including 24-hour access to interventional cardiology procedures such as coronary angiograms, angioplasty, and stenting. Offers a dedicated psychiatric emergency department providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments for adults 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Also offers public disposal of sharps needles.

A medically supervised 16-bed detox center adjoined to the back of UConnectCare's Atwater Community Residence in Batavia. Provides a continuum of care under one roof to enable people in need to access short-term (usually 3-7 days) detoxification treatment and services. Center is fully staffed by medical and substance use counseling professionals specially trained and certified to assist people who require short-term services. Care and treatment includes meeting with a counselor every day, participating in individual and group therapy sessions, and receiving support from peer advocates prior to medically-assisted treatment. After detoxification, patients can transition to the Atwater Community Residence, a 17-bed facility for men and women that provides counseling and treatment services for up to a six-month stay (see separate listing for details on Atwater Community Residence). HOURS: Intake: Monday-Friday, 9am-11am. Inpatient Care: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Swimming lessons available for all ages. Combination swimming and gym activities for children ages 3-5 also available. Open swim for members, limited day passes available. Jets Swim Team.

Offers over ten individual sports clinics with instruction in fundamental skills development for each sport. Buffalo camps include tennis, golf, basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, crew, creative dance, swimming, and General Motors STEM Camp. Lackawanna camps include basketball, football, and chess.

Public library. Offers 13 public access computers with Microsoft Office Applications, internet access, and printing (B&W, 10 cents; color, 25 cents). Also offers a scanner, copy machine, fax machine, and meeting room. Serves as a Cooling Center for individuals during times of excessive heat. Always call ahead to make sure a Cooling Center is open before going there.

Provides information to the public, law enforcement agencies, businesses and other entities about individuals required to register as sex offenders in New York State. Maintains an online directory of individuals determined to have a Level 2 or 3 risk of re-offense. The state’s NY-ALERT system can provide notifications whenever a Level 2 or Level 3 sex offender listed in the online directory moves.

A decision-making committee to determine eligibility and the appropriate level of services for preschool children aged 3-5. The CPSE is a multidisciplinary team established to conduct meetings to develop, review, or revise the Individual Education Program (IEP) of a student with a disability. The parent or legal guardian is included as a member of the committee.
