An expansion of the Medicaid Program which provides health care for New York State residents. Health care is provided through enrollment into a Managed Care Organization.

A federally funded program administered by New York State to assist low income families with their energy needs. Multiple components are available to residents while funding is available. Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) components include Regular and Emergency benefit assistance towards heating and electricity costs, furnace repair, replacement, clean and tune, and cooling assistance. All approved benefits result in a credit on the heating or electric bill, or a delivery of fuel, equaling the benefit amount. Programs run annually until funding is exhausted. The Regular HEAP Benefit is scheduled to open November 2nd, 2026. The Emergency HEAP Benefit is closed. The Heating Equipment Repair & Replacement (HERR) Benefit is scheduled to open October 1st, 2026. The Clean & Tune Benefit is scheduled to open October 1st, 2026. Applicants must meet all HEAP eligibility criteria in order to be eligible for the Heating Equipment Clean and Tune benefit. The Cooling Assistance Benefit is closed. Applicants must meet all HEAP eligibility criteria and a household member must have a medical need in order to be eligible for the Cooling benefit. All applicants are required to provide medical documentation that their medical condition is exacerbated by extreme heat, unless there is a vulnerable member in their household. Eddy SeniorCare is a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) that integrates medical and long-term healthcare management to help chronically ill adults live independently and avoid unnecessary nursing home placement. Eddy SeniorCare offers an interdisciplinary care team working together to manage each senior's medical conditions and provides day services, nursing care, rehabilitation, social work, transportation, recreation, meals, personal care and at-home services.

Provides case management services to help children with a psychiatric diagnosis maintain stability and remain out of more intensive levels of care.

Breast Cancer Screening - Patient Navigation: These programs help women, regardless of insurance status, to overcome barriers to access and complete breast cancer screening at breast centers accredited through the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). New York State Breast and Prostate Cancer Peer Education: These programs offer education for women about the importance of regular breast cancer screening, and, for men, about the risks of prostate cancer. Enforces animal control measures needed to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Islip residents and, wherever possible, to promote animal welfare. The shelter houses stray and abandoned animals and makes every effort to have as many of those animals adopted as is possible.

Head Start of Rockland provides NYS approved special education services for preschool children, including evaluation and assessment, therapy and integrated classroom programming at sites in Nyack, Spring Valley and Haverstraw.

Provides 8-bed men's shelter furnishing bed, food, addiction recovery support, transportation to medical facilities, transportation to job interviews, medical and transitional assistance. Men from the homeless shelter who have acquired jobs can stay until they have the necessary finances to be self-supporting.Transitional housing offers more privacy but the men all live in a house together and share common rooms. Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services provides primary medical services to the uninsured and underinsured residents of Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington Counties.(see eligibility) Programs include prenatal care, women's health, pediatrics, adult medicine, family practice, school based health, mental health, nutrition, eye care, and podiatry services. The Troy office provides family practice and women's health services.

Monitors new building conditions and construction and oversees the maintenance of older multi-family structures. Enforces the state and local building codes and housing standards and ordinances. Reviews applications for permits of new buildings, repairs, alterations, signs, and rooming houses. Accepts complaints from tenants about conditions the landlord fails to resolve.

Provides inspection, installation and education on child car safety.

Provides medically supervised detoxification and stabilization related to acute withdrawal. Stays are brief to support the stabilization of acute needs and early-care in coordination with medical and mental health providers, social services, probation, parole, Drug Court, along with any other service referrals the individual may need.

Connect local restaurants to families in the community in need of a meal. Whether a family is having financial difficulties, illness, a death in the family, or anything else bringing them down, we want to be sure they know their community supports them. Supper Hugs have delivered 1,000 meals to families through this program so far.

Provides an educational presentation, screenings, sealant placements and follow-ups for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders who have received permission from a parent or guardian. The program serves 22 schools in 17 districts across St. Lawrence County.
