Services Include: Assistance with applying to New York State Crime Victims Board for compensation; Information on your role in the criminal justice process and the significant stages of the process; Assistance with security measures to help protect your safety; Court information and case information. This includes explaining each step of the proceeding in order to help alleviate confusion and the resulting anxiety. Additionally court dates, times and places can be confirmed along with information on what to expect when you get there; Court accompaniment. If desired, a staff member of the Victim Services Unit will accompany the victim or witness to hearings and trial in order to provide support; Assistance with Property Return; Intervention with creditors and employers; Referrals to any social services you may need and Assistance with post-conviction proceedings, including the preparation of a Victim Impact Statement if a pre-sentence report is prepared in the case; speaking at the time of sentencing for felony offenses; and notifications regarding the defendant's parole or release from a correctional facility. Offers the first of its kind in the country operating from inside a correctional facility. S.A.T.I. has been pioneering the campaign against human trafficking from the correctional standpoint by establishing a comprehensive and effective response to the crime. The unit works in collaboration with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies by developing and forwarding intelligence gleaned from the correctional facility setting. In addition, they refer victims and work closely with advocacy groups in efforts to assist the victims on their road to recovery. The principal objectives are to ensure that all victims of human trafficking who pass through our facility are identified, have access to the services they need to recover, and are supported throughout their long-term journey as survivors. The Suffolk County Sheriff's Office has designated teams of officers in our Human Trafficking Unit tracking activity within our Correctional Facilities as well as in the community. Provides comprehensive health care services to patients whose rehabilitative or complex medical needs necessitate short-term care to facilitate recovery. Offers a broad array of respiratory care, neurological disease care, rehabilitative therapy and medically complex care.

Emphasis on using medication-assisted recovery, including Suboxone, prescribed by center's physician.

Trauma-informed, strength-based program aimed at reducing the use of detention for youth charged as Juvenile Delinquents and out of home placements for adjudicated Juvenile Delinquents and/or Persons in Need of Supervision (PINS). Utilizes family engagement, community support, and youth mentoring opportunities.

Provides learning experiences where individuals can develop strengths and skills that contribute to an individualâs employability in the community. Services include teaching concepts such as compliance, attendance, task completion, problem solving, safety, wellness while at work, socialization at work, communication, accepting supervision, personal appearance and appropriate work attire; goal setting, work ethics, and work tolerance.

Provides cultural services and information, re-grant agency for New York State Council on the Arts Project and individual artist programming, monthly calendar of events, sponsors area cultural events including annual Fiddler's Gathering and Fine Arts Craft Fair, sponsors Folk Arts Program and Arts in Education Program, maintains cultural resource collection (database of artists), and provides artists access to office equipment and computer, meetings and group health insurance.

Subsidizes the Burn Center at Nassau County Medical Center by purchasing equipment when the county is unable to absorb the cost. Covers the cost of sending doctors and nurses to burn treatment seminars. Raises funds to supplement the cost of renovations to the burn center over and above what the county will fund. Provides Fire Prevention Awareness programs to residents of Nassau County.

Provides an array of rehabilitation and recovery services for adults with mental illness which works to assist individuals in acquiring and maintaining skills and supports to live successfully in their communities. Services include wellness self management, financial management, leisure planning, reduce risk of relapse, employment support, medication management and more.

Offers direct case management and permanent housing referrals to Nassau and Suffolk County households homeless for one year or longer. Includes single adults, adult couples, families, veterans, persons with disabilities and victims of domestic violence.

Offers community clinics which focus on primary and family medical care, along with routine immunizations for both children and adults. Also available, is a laboratory for blood, urine, and other lab tests that may be needed.

Provides formal instruction for students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.

Handles legal matters including civil, criminal, small claims, and eviction cases within the Town of Milton.
