Responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the pipes, drains, and manholes that constitute the sewage collection system which transports liquid waste to treatment facilities.

Offers a wide range of licensing, records, and informational services to town residents. Licensing and permits include marriage licenses, hunting/fishing/trapping licenses, disabled parking permits, and dog licenses. Other services include maintaining town records and archives. Prepares and collects property taxes for residents of the Town of Charleston from January through March 31st. After March 31st all paperwork goes to the Montgomery County Finance Department's Office.

Offers a one-year program designed to prepare the student for non technician careers in the automotive industry. This program prepares the student for positions in automotive sales, leasing, finance, marketing, parts, service, management and customer service. The courses of study cover business, management and marketing courses as needed to become a well-rounded graduate prepared for the automotive business sector. This program is designed for a student with automotive experience and/or prior automotive education with the goal of enriching their automotive career path and improving job outlook. All students applying to the Automotive Business certificate program will be required to attend a mandatory automotive program information session. This program is offered both part-time and full-time and admission is competitive. Students in the Automotive Business Certificate program will be required to have a valid driver’s license; violations resulting in points on a driver’s license abstract may impact a student’s ability to complete program cooperative course requirements. Assists consumers who have been wronged by a business, through mediation to resolve disputes and assists residents in locating the government agencies that can best address their problems, and referring complaints to the right agency. Consumers are encouraged to try to resolve the dispute with the company or individual before filing a complaint.

Offers workshops and training on numerous topics relevant to professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents working with children and adolescents with autism. Workshops are conducted by seasoned professionals in the autism field. Training sessions are typically three hours in length and are designed to actively engage participants as much as possible. They may include hands-on learning activities. Presentations are also available and can take place at the Center or at other community locations. Mix of Zoom, online and in-person options.

The building department monitors new building conditions and construction, and oversees the maintenance of older multi-family structures. Also enforces the state and local building codes, housing standards and ordinances, to the review of applications for permits of new buildings, repairs, alterations, signs, and rooming houses, in addition to electrical and plumbing work. The building department accepts complaints from tenants about conditions the landlord fails to resolve.

Provides case management services to children, adolescents and their families to maximize each youth's potential for growth and emotional stability. Includes an assessment of the child/adolescents strengths and needs and development of a service plan focused on mental health, health, education, recreation, self-care and various other areas related to the young person's functioning. Services include linkage, coordination of services, advocacy and education. Evening appointments are available.
