Description: Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) offering pediatrics, internal medicine/family medicine, OB/GYN, pediatric and adult dental services, podiatry, social work, nutritional counseling, medications for opioid use disorder, vision care, and pharmacy with home delivery. Serves all populations with special focus on the medically under-insured, uninsured, and those experiencing homelessness. Also provides onsite lab, ultrasound, STD testing, COVID-19 testing and vaccines, health education/groups, blood pressure screening, and free walk-in pregnancy testing. Provides transportation assistance to help clients get to appointments and referral assistance. Participates in 340B drug discount program and has onsite enrollers for the New York State of Health insurance marketplace. Hospital affiliations: Sisters Hospital and the John R. Offers continuing education courses to nurses who wish to grow professionally or who have been away from the practice and are planning on returning. Offers a support group for those whose loved one or friend died by drug overdose.

Provides a short-term psychiatric inpatient level of care for children and adolescents, ages 5 to 17 years of age. Provides active treatment for patients and their families including assessment, medication management, individual/group/family therapy, and therapeutic programming to assist each child/family in their recovery process based on their academic level and individual needs.

Offers a nurse navigator for cancer patients to assist in navigating the healthcare system. Works closely with patients to help them find answers to their questions and in overcoming barriers.

Monitors new building conditions and construction and oversees the maintenance of older multi-family structures. Enforces the state and local building codes and housing standards and ordinances. Reviews applications for permits of new buildings, repairs, alterations, signs, and rooming houses. Accepts complaints from tenants about conditions the landlord fails to resolve.

Coordinates a network of foster families to provide pets with temporary homes while families transition into a safer living environment.

Offered September through June, and takes place from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (hours may vary for high school programming). It consists of one hour of homework support (Power Hour), activities in arts and crafts, recreation, STEM, and social/emotional learning, along with Boys & Girls Club of America curricula (Triple Play, Smart Girls, Smart Kids, Healthy Habits, among others). Options for 3 and 5 days/week.

Astor accepts donations of new toys, for children who are served by Astor Services. Toys can be wrapped, with a tag stating the toy's description of age and gender. Toys are distributed to families already participating in programs offered by Astor Services.

Also includes, enforce laws and complaints regarding dogs who have bitten someone or are otherwise making nuisances of themselves. Most animal control programs are unable to handle nuisance wildlife.
