The Weatherization Assistance Program is a no-cost program that helps lower-income households reduce their utility bills and increase energy efficiency. The Program’s primary purpose is to increase the energy efficiency of dwellings owned or occupied by low-income persons, reduce their total residential energy expenditures, and improve their health and safety, especially low-income persons who are particularly vulnerable, such as the elderly, the disabled, and children.

An engaging, alternative approach to providing protection for children by focusing on engaging families in informal and formal support services to meet needs and increase the family's ability to care for their children. Program addresses situations in which families are reported to child protection services for issues such as educational neglect, where the child's safety is not at risk.
