ArtsWestchester partners with schools and school districts to develop and implement programs that integrate the arts into the curricula, to use the arts as an instructional approach to improve teaching and learning, and to meet NYS standards in the arts and other subjects. ArtsWestchester also provides multi-session artist residencies to community sites and human service agencies including shelters, day-treatment programs and mental health facilities, Head Start Programs, and after-school programs. The programs are based on a multi-session residency model, enabling artists to partner with educators or site coordinators to establish goals plan and implement an arts-making project. Residencies are conducted by artists who apply for the Directory of Teaching Artists through a competitive process. Also identifies, documents and showcases cultural traditions of county residents through its Folk Arts Program.. In addition, ArtsWestchester owns and operates a nine-story cultural center, the Arts Exchange, in downtown White Plains, where it mounts exhibitions, presents cultural programs and concerts, and offers classes.

Administers a Welfare to Work Program (using computers as primary training), and a Computer Literacy Program for youth. Prosecutes all level of crimes and offenses that occur in Madison County. Provides legal advice and counsel to all police agencies in Madison County.

Provide syringe disposal containers which are puncture proof and non breakable for individuals who have a medical condition involving self-injection at home, and when it is full is returned to the hospital and pick up a new one.

Provides a location for seniors to meet, socialize and participate in many activities, such as arts and crafts, exercise classes, singing, trips and lunch, including a visiting nurse who comes once a month.

Pro Action SACC Licensed Care, provides a safe after school programming for Kindergarten-3rd grade, such as homework assistance social and recreational activities. After School healthy snacks are provided.

Offers a workshop series on anger management to Nassau and Suffolk County residents. Through a variety of activities, participants will learn skills to manage stress and anger while developing empathy, better judgment and impulse control. Provides strategies for conflict resolution and communication training. Offers a variety of formats (one day class, 12 week series or individual coaching). Accepted by the court system, CPS and probation departments.

Assesses and maintains records of all properties in the Town of Claverack.

Offers parents and caregivers supervised early drop-off at select school locations with low-yield activities and a relaxed atmosphere to help children prepare for the school day and adhere to safety guidelines provided by each school district.

The building department monitors new building conditions and construction, and oversees the maintenance of older multi-family structures. Also enforces the state and local building codes, housing standards and ordinances, to the review of applications for permits of new buildings, repairs, alterations, signs, and rooming houses, in addition to electrical and plumbing work. The building department accepts complaints from tenants about conditions the landlord fails to resolve.
